Sir! Stop laughing! This is War!
Is the result of a soldier's memoirs of his time spent serving in the British Forces and later as a
mercenery training the Tanzania People's Defence Force underground tactics in a bid (which as we now know, was successful) to upheave evil
dictator, and butcher of his own people, Idi Amin.
The book is divided into four parts:
Part 1 covers the story of a young man
during his training to become an officer. This part of the book focuses on 'Squeaky Boots' a rather notorious drill instructor and the methods he
used to knock his trainees into shape.
Part 2 covers the bloody war in Cyprus began by EOKA- a small
band of Greek terrorists who fought for the expulsion of British troops from the Island. Britain turned to the Turkish Cypriots for
help and fierce fighting and a political nightmare ensued.
Part 3 covers the Aden Emergency, a conflict between British troops and rival terrorist tribes
which eventually led to Britain's final withdrawal from the Empire.
This part of the book details Lt. Col 'Mad Mitch' Mitchell's methods of dealing with the terrorists, and the military and political events that
proceded British troops withdrawing from the 'Arsehole of South Arabia' with their tails between their legs.
Part 4 covers the unbelievable atrocities performed by
evil dictator Idi Amin against his own Ugandan people. The author also describes the tactics used to train the Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Force,
and the methods used to overthrow the hideous Amin and his sick sidekick Bob Astle.

INTRODUCTION
As
the reader, if you are expecting this to be a novel, you will not be disappointed. If you are expecting this to be a history book, you will
not be disappointed. If you are expecting a diary or a journal, you will again, not be disappointed.
This
is a fascinating story based on true events, and told in a cross between all these genres and will not let you down. What you are about to
read is not any one of these things; it is, in fact, all of them. It is a cross between one real-life soldier's memoirs and accounts of his
time in service to the British Army, sharing many of his own stories and those of his fellow soldiers, as well as personal recounts of a
very monumental time in history.
Through the eyes of our hero, Mark 'Mac' Hudson, we are privileged to an inside glimpse into some of the personal encounters our author,
who uses the pen name of Reginald Lingham, experienced during his military career, as well as a compilation and dramatization of the life
of a British Military Soldier.
In
this poignant, often humorous, sometimes silly, and other times extremely real and hard-core account by one who has lived through it, you,
the reader, will be drawn into the world of the challenges, struggles, victories, and defeats shared by the brave men who fought in these
epic battles.
The stories you read here will stay with you, long after you turn
the last page.
Enjoy your journey.
